dude, your not funny
Sorry, I was just staying on the joke topic. Isn't that what this thread's about??
no, i was serious, but obviously nobody else here is so bo*****s to it, im not bothering anymore. i posted this thread as a serious question but all people have done is mock and generally take the p*ss. well if thats what the people who play the game are like, then count me out. there a few decene people out there...flame stallion, negativity, and the chuskarls but the rest of you seem to have a bad attitude problem, frowning on people because they dare to own a ps2 or an xbox rather than a pc. well like i said i have both and in writing this thread i have realised where my priorities lie...and it is no longer with eve. i only want to pay games with decent people and it seems to me that there are not of them playing eve atm
goodbye people, i will write a proper thread about this later. meanwhile i am going to hand my character over to my son...he is too you to really give a toss or even want to understand why people are so narrow minded.
this is not a dig at delta3000 but at pretty much everybody who answered this thread with a so called funny comment.
Here's why it's a bad idea. Eve is a DirectX game. You would have to completely re-create a large portion of the game to run it on the PS3 because the PS3 is NOTHING like Windows. You would have to engineer an entirely new way of the game communicating with the CCP servers, THROUGH the sony online service. With the 360, the task would be somewhat less daunting because it's already DirectX (albiet, heavily customized), but the modifications would be huge, and the interface would still have to be completely redesigned. I would guess that the effort involved for EITHER platform does not and probably never will translate into a profit margin CCP is willing to risk all that development time going after.
But you can bet that this discussion occurs internally at CCP at regular and appropriate intervals, and that suggesting or asking about it on the forums isn't going to cause any internal corporate revelations that haven't already been hashed out by real accountants, real program managers, and real dev's that have to work on this game for a living.
